The Veil is one of those pieces that is pretty controversial at this point. It holds a lot of old traditions that do not align with many brides views today. That can make it obsolete. The history of the veil has been one that hold a lot of tradition as well as a sense of ownership. When brides are asked if they will be wearing a veil often we get met with a big NO! This is due to the traditional thoughts of giving away a bride. While there are many traditions that I wish we could toss, this is one item that we can shake from the proprietor ship that once clung to it.
The veil gives brides a timeless look that is always stunning. The veil often does a great job pulling the wedding hair in with the rest of your dress. It keeps the eye moving from top to bottom.
If you love your wedding dress but your arms are not where you wanted them to be on your wedding day. The veil is a great tool to feel a little more coverage in these areas. Dependant on the length of your veil you could quite literally swim in it. I love the confidence that the veil gives to my brides. Once you drop that veil in you can literally see a light turn on inside of them; a veil releases the princess within. So please let us love on that princess from within.
As a photographer, I get butterflies when I see a bride with veil I immediately see sunset opportunities that will make your jaw drop!
Most veils can be removed fairly easily that way you do not have to wear it the entire duration of your wedding. You just need to chat with your hair dresser and ask them to supply you with a style that can accommodate the removal of the veil.
So many brides are going with simpler updos that make an easy transition that last the duration of the day. As second shooter I have gotten the opputrtunity to hang on to the veil in-between ceremony and golden hour, don’t be shocked if I wear it 😉

The veil makes for a great heirloom piece to pass on to generations to follow. As long as it is taken care of it can last much longer than you would think.
